Etiquette On Slot Machines

There are some accepted guidelines of etiquette that players should follow when playing slot machines. This will make their casino experience more enjoyable and fun.

Etiquette # 1 Coin Cups on Handles or Seats

Normally when players see a cup of coins placed on the seat just in front of the slot machine or on a slot machines handle it only means that the slot machine is being occupied by another player.

The player that occupies the slot machine may only have headed to the bathroom or gone to get more chips/tokens.

In some casinos, where they make use of coinless slot machines, players often put a personal object on the chair to hold their position.

As a new player, you should respect their position. You can look for another slot machine that is vacant, or patiently wait for your turn, if there are no more slot machines available.

If you are the one holding the slot machine, and need to go to the bathroom, make sure that you move quickly, and then go back to the slot machine as quickly as you can.

In other casinos, there are slot attendants that players can ask to hold the machine while players go for a bathroom break. If this is the case, then players should consider giving a customary tip to the attendant for watching their machine while they are gone.

Etiquette # 2 Playing Multiple Machines

Some slot machine players like to play with more than one slot machine all at the same time. If you are playing during a very busy time, refrain from playing more than one slot machine - this allows other players to have their chance on the slot machine.

Sometimes, you will see a sign that says: "One Slot Machine per player during busy time". This should be respectfully followed by players.

There are times that player will forget their card inserted in the slot machine. What you should do is place the card on top of the slot machine. Soon the player that left his or her card will be back to come get it. You could also leave it with the attendant.

Etiquette # 4 Smoking

Position your ash tray and cigarette in a manner that you will not annoy another player. If the casino does not allow players to smoke inside, you should follow it, and if you want to smoke you can go outside to do it.

Etiquette # 5 Tipping

The decision to give a tip is yours. You can always reward casino attendants tips if you are satisfied with their services. However, giving a tip is not mandatory, it is given freely.

The best etiquette that you should always remember is the golden rule: "Do unto other what you want others to do unto you".
